Jesus Fest 07 - Family Fun Day
This Year's Jesus Fest Is On May 19, 2007 - See You There !
Manahawkin Lake Park 10 am - 7 pm Free Admission
Come Out And Be A Shining Light For The Lord !
Jesus Fest '06 was held on May 20, 2006 with thousands of people at the Manahawkin Lake Park (on the mainland) from 10 am to 7 pm - and 22 churches participated, plus other ministries!
Jesus Fest Is An Annual Event And Is A Lot Of Fun. Make plans to be with the thousands of people at Jesus Fest. We hope to see you there.
We Would Like To Thank Randy Aldred and Todd & Joellen Andree for your many hours of time in organizing and working at Jesus Fest to help make Jesus Fest A Great Success.
The Purpose Of Jesus Fest Is Always:
1) To Proclaim That Jesus Christ Is Lord And Savior To Our Local Community.
2) To Celebrate Jesus' Love For Us And Worship Him Publicly.
3) To promote unity and fellowship among the local Bible-preaching churches of Southern Ocean County according to Psalm 133:1.
Jesus Fest Continues To Grow Bigger And Better Each Year !
Last year's theme was Jonah And The Whale. We featured many activities, puppet shows, music, dramas and more on the timeless lesson that Jonah learned - to carry the Lord's message to those who do not know of His wonderful plan of salvation! We had live praise bands from the local churches (awesome worship and praise!) playing all day on the main stage. The Unity Choir, made up of members of many local churches, blessed us again.
The Kids Area featured A Giant 70 ft Inflatable Whale, pony rides and a "Walk & Witness" through the "town of Nineveh" with interactive puppets to represent the town's people that need the Lord. We had Jonah and the Whale puppet shows throughout the day. As always, we had Simon Peter's Fishing Hole and face-painting with prizes. All the kids had a super time while they learned about Jonah!
Our speaker on the main stage at this year's Jesus Fest was Joanne Sheptock - mother of 37 children (90% adopted).
The Youth (teen) area had their own stage with live contemporary music all day. Pro street skater Danny and his team were at the Youth area performing awesome skate stunts!
Back by popular demand this year, we had THE MAZE - a giant 40x40ft enclosed maze in total darkness... with many multimedia surprizes along the way! Over 1,250 young people went through THE MAZE at Jesus Fest this year! Its purpose is to be an evangelistic outreach to teens.
Many teens said that THE MAZE was very challenging and effective in its pupose. We were blessed to having The Maze back at Jesus Fest '06. More information on The Maze is at www.mazeoutreach.org.
As always, the churches cooked up all our favorite foods at very reasonable prices. Proceeds benefit the youth groups' and churches missionary projects.
This year's United For Jesus t-shirt designs are shown below. We sold over 800 shirts this year. After expenses, proceeds from the shirts sales and event advertising always go to the local ministries that the CCSOC sponsors that year.
Our recipients for 2006 are: America's Keswick, The Alliance Defense Fund, and Christian radio station WYRS 90.7 FM. Thanks again to all of you, the local businesses and people who supported Jesus Fest '06.

Battle of Cedar Bridge

Generous Honorarium to Pre-approved Participating Units
Stafford Township will hold the seventh annual Battle of Cedar Bridge on September 22, 23, 24, & 25, 2006.
The Stafford Township Historical Society announces that the annual Stafford Township Heritage Weekend featuring the Battle of Cedar Bridge will be held on the fourth weekend of September.
We are forced to make this unexpected change to avoid a conflict with the Brandywine Reenactment that has moved back to the second weekend of September.
This move will also make the event more accessible to the many school districts involved in our educational program.
The fourth weekend of September is also the annual Ocean County Decoy and Gunning Show in Tuckerton (approximately 10 miles south of Manahawkin) that draws over 40,000 participants.
We hope that the two events will complement each other. Therefore, we anticipate that Stafford Heritage Weekend will remain on the fourth weekend of September for the foreseeable future.
The Stafford Township Historical Society deeply regrets any problems that this change causes for our many loyal participants.
While caused by the actions of those beyond our control, we believe that this change will benefit the future growth and stability of this important educational event.
Participants receive 2 free lunches, free pancake and sausage breakfast, free t-shirts for new participants (while they last), ice, firewood, straw, water, and use of bathroom facilities.
Other events include Civil War battle and encampment, historic 1758 church, 1838 museum & general store, 1872 railroad station, children's rides, food court, juried craft fair, day long concerts, and contemporary night concert. |
